Gate valve

Gate valve, as a common truncation valve, plays an important role in various industrial pipelines because of its simple structure, good sealing performance and small opening and closing torque. Its working principle is driven by rotating hand wheel, electric actuator or pneumatic actuator, so that the sealing surface between the gate and the seat to achieve the cut-off or circulation of the medium. In many gate valves, manual gate valves, electric gate valves, pneumatic gate valves, etc. are classified according to the driving mode; Parallel gate valves, wedge gate valves, etc. are classified according to structural form; Soft seal gate valves and hard seal gate valves are classified according to sealing surface materials to meet the needs of different working conditions.

Structural characteristics:

Gate valve is composed of valve body, valve cover, gate plate and valve stem. The valve body is a container to withstand the pressure of the medium and the flow medium, and the valve cover is connected with the valve body to play a sealing role. The ram is the key component to achieve dielectric cut-off and flow, while the valve stem is connected to the hand wheel, electric actuator or pneumatic actuator to drive the ram up and down.

Application field

In the urban water supply system, gate valve is the key equipment to ensure the stable and safe water supply. It provides a strong guarantee for the normal water supply of the city by accurately regulating the water flow, cutting off the water source and switching the pipeline. In the industrial water system, the gate valve plays an important role in controlling the water flow, protecting the equipment and preventing the backflow of the medium. Its corrosion resistance and sealing performance are the key to ensure the normal operation of the system.

In the field of agricultural irrigation, by distributing water source, regulating water flow and controlling irrigation area, preventing media backpouring, its corrosion resistance and reliability are the key to the normal operation of drainage system.

In oil and gas system, gate valve is used to control oil well output, regulate oil flow and prevent oil and gas leakage, which requires high temperature resistance and high pressure resistance. In the process of natural gas transmission, gate valves are used to control air flow, cut off air source, and switch pipelines, which have high requirements for corrosion resistance and sealing performance. In the process of oil processing, gate valves are used to control the flow of media, protect equipment and prevent the backflow of media, and need to have corrosion resistance and reliability. During the storage of liquefied petroleum gas, gate valve is used to control gas flow, prevent leakage and ensure safety, which requires low temperature resistance and high pressure resistance.

Gate valve installation

Before installing gate valves, ensure that the environment at the installation site is safe, and prepare necessary tools. This includes hard hats, gloves, wrenches, etc. Check the model and specifications of gate valves to ensure that they meet the design requirements. At the same time, the gate valve is comprehensively inspected to eliminate damage, rust and other hidden dangers. After the preparatory work is completed, we can proceed to the installation.

During the installation process, it is necessary to first determine the installation position of the gate valve and clean the pipeline. Next, install the gate valve on the pipe, ensuring that the valve body is concentric with the pipe. Then, the pipe is connected and the sealing performance is tested. Finally, adjust the opening and closing position of the gate valve to ensure its normal operation.

When installing the gate valve, we need to pay attention to the following points: Avoid excessive force, so as not to damage the gate valve; Ensure that the gate valve is firmly connected to the pipeline; Note the opening and closing direction of the valve. After installation, we need to check the gate valve. Check whether the opening and closing of the gate valve is flexible, whether the sealing performance is good, and whether the connection between the valve and the pipeline is firm. These checks are crucial.

Gate valve maintenance

First of all, we should regularly check the sealing performance and working status of the gate valve. This is the key to ensure that the gate valve can effectively control the fluid medium. Through inspection, we can find the wear between the gate and the seat in time, and whether the valve is leaking. Secondly, cleaning and maintenance is also an important part of gate valve maintenance. We need to clean the inside and outside of the gate valve regularly to prevent corrosion of the valve and extend its service life. Finally, timely replacement of damaged parts is also an important part of ensuring the normal operation of the gate valve. If a damper, seat or other component is found to be damaged, we should replace it promptly to avoid greater failure and downtime.

Maintenance method

Anti-rust treatment: an important part of gate valve maintenance. In a humid environment, the iron gate valve is easy to rust, resulting in the valve cannot be opened and closed properly. Therefore, the use of anti-rust agents for anti-rust treatment is very necessary.

Lubrication treatment: Lubricating the stem and bearing of the gate valve can reduce wear and prevent premature damage.

Explosion-proof treatment: for gate valves with special media. For flammable and explosive media, appropriate explosion-proof measures, such as the use of explosion-proof gate valves, can effectively prevent accidents.
