Grade | A694 Grade F60 |
Standard | ASTM A694/A694M-2016 |
Standard Specification for Carbon and Alloy Steel Forgings for Pipe Flanges, Fittings, Valves, and Parts for High-Pressure Transmission Service
Classification | Carbon steel |
Introductions | • This standard applies to forged or rolled pipe flanges, forged pipe fittings, valves and parts for high pressure transmission lines. Includes flanges, fittings and similar parts in dimensions specified by Buyer or manufactured according to ASME and MSS dimensioned standards listed in Chapter 2. |
• All forgings should be heat treated. Heat treatment of carbon steel and high strength low alloy steel can be normalizing, normalizing + tempering or quenching + tempering. The heat treatment of alloy steel is normalizing + precipitation aging or quenching + precipitation aging.
• The tempering temperature should be at least 1000°F(540°C). The temperature of alloy steel precipitation aging treatment is 1000~1225°F (540~655°C). |
