Standard Specification for ASTM A671/A671M CB 65

Grade CB 65
Standard ASTM A671/A671M-2020
Standard Specification for Electric-Fusion-Welded Steel Pipe for Atmospheric and Lower Temperatures
Classification Carbon steel
Introductions The raw material for this Grade of welded pipe is from the ASTM A515/A515M standard Grade 65
• This standard is suitable for high pressure applications at normal temperature and lower temperature, and consists of several different composition and strength levels of pressure vessel steel plates, carbon steel and alloy steel pipes welded with filled metal electrofusion welding. Heat treatment is not required in order to obtain the desired mechanical properties or to comply with the requirements of the code used. Supplementary requirements are available when additional tests and inspections are required.
• This standard applies to steel pipes with an outer diameter of not less than 16in. (400mm) and a wall thickness of not less than 1/4in. (6.4mm), and may also be used for steel pipes of other sizes conforming to this standard.
• Grade (grade) refers to the type of steel plate (grade) used, such as: steel pipe grade (grade) CA 55 steel plate is Grade C in standard ASTM A285/A285M. See Table 2
• Class refers to the type of heat treatment performed in the manufacture of the steel pipe, whether the weld has been X-ray inspected, and whether the steel pipe has been hydraulically inspected as listed in Table 1.
• Welding shall be performed in accordance with the operating procedures with a full penetration weld on both sides and shall be performed by a welder or welding process qualified in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Title IX.
• Sample steel pipe grades (grades) and Class marks: CA 55 Class 10
